Our outlined services below range from light-touch to detailed involvement dependent upon need and your requirements. We’re always happy to discuss enquiries and facilitate the best-fit approach to achieve effective outcomes.
School Services
Circle Psychology offer bespoke child and educational psychology services to individual and clusters of schools, as well as local authorities. We recognise that it is not always possible to know how much time schools may need from the service; needs can change quickly and changes to schools, staffing and cohorts can mean that schools requirements change during the school year. In order to reflect this, we can offer three levels of service to schools.
- We offer an ad hoc service where schools can buy in stand-alone consultation and further work as and when it is needed – subject to availability.
- We can offer contracts to individual schools and clusters providing them with an agreed number of days over an agreed period of time. Typically, this is over two to three terms, but it can be individually planned to meet the needs of the school. Contracts can offer a reduced daily rate and tend to be more cost effective.
- Within contract, schools and clusters can request additional days at the discounted contract rate.
Our services to schools include:
Consultation
Sessions are held to establish a joint understanding of the issues of concern, possible explanations, and agreed plan of action. Next steps are bespoke to the individual context.
Systemic Work
Working with the whole school to identify key areas to develop. Support to consider school development plans and how systems can facilitate specific focus areas e.g. pastoral support, learning/SEN provision, mental health.
Supervision
All team members engage in professional supervision, and offer this as a service to other professionals. Supervision for senior school staff, SEND Coordinators, and pastoral support is available.
Assessment
Where further information is needed following consultation, our Educational Psychologists will complete additional assessment work. This may include observation, direct work with the child or both. As appropriate, there may be liaison with other agencies.
Training
We offer a full range of training options for individual school, school clusters, multi-academy trusts, as well as early years and higher education settings.
Individual Work
A professional judgement is made by the Educational Psychologist based on: their expertise and experience; the facts of the case; previous assessment completed; other agencies with active involvement; and, the age of the child and nature of their needs.
Consultancy
Consultation forms the basis of our work at Circle Psychology. We can offer consultation to assist schools and local authorities in their planning around individual and groups of children; as well as around school wide approaches, policies and strategy.
We believe that the adults around the child or young person know them best and so we value the opportunity to problem solve together. Consultation also guides our involvement and in doing so supports schools in using Circle Psychology in an effective and time-efficient manner.
Consultation can be stand alone or can form part of a longer piece of involvement and is recognised as an integral part of the assessment process.

Group Work
Circle Psychology can offer group work for children and young people. We can offer short term intervention work with students and we adopt a model which engages school staff in the process, allowing for sustainability within school. We draw from models such as narrative therapy and solution focused brief therapy in our intervention and group work; as well as peer support approaches.
Group work can be focused around children causing concern but can also be designed for the purpose of developing whole school approaches at a universal levels, such as developing peer buddying and mediation services within schools.

Training
Circle Psychology can offer training to support the needs of schools, settings and their pupils. We have developed a number of training packages including: restorative justice; attachment; precision teaching; anxiety; attentional difficulties; social communication difficulties; positive behaviour; and, therapeutic stories. However, we are also available to develop bespoke packages to meet your individual needs, including supervision and follow up work to support implementation.
We believe strongly that training should have a positive impact on your practice, your schools and your pupils, but recognise the time restraints and many demands that often exist in schools. We work carefully with our customers to ensure that our training meets your budget and time needs whilst maximising outcomes and complimenting the approaches already in place in schools.
