Catherine is a founding Partner of Circle Psychology, following a successful career as an EP for various local authorities across the Yorkshire region, most recently as a Senior EP for Leeds City Council. She has worked in both public and private practice and undertakes a range of associate work, including work for the Department of Education and well-regarded legal firms.

She initially began her career as a special needs teacher (Conductor-teacher) developing skills in supporting families and children with complex needs, from Early Years to young adults. She also has significant experience in the mainstream sector as well as having taught in overseas settings.

Catherine is a passionate advocate for inclusion and children and young people’s social, emotional and mental health. Her doctoral research has explored children and young people’s views around family change and how these transitions can be sensitively supported for children and young people, and their families, by settings and professionals.

A further professional interest area is Acquired Brain Injury and supporting the rehabilitation journey for children and young people and their families. She continues to have an interest in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
